Dating back to the 18th century, the Bastide itself was previously used as a hunting lodge for the aristocracy. Now impeccably restored as a family home, guests here share in the spoils and richness of the building and land.
The property very comfortably welcomes up to 14 guests with bedrooms situated in the main house, cottage, and pool annex. The main house offers ample ground floor living areas for all guests to enjoy time together, whether while lounging by the large fireplace, reading in the stunning library, preparing meals in the kitchen space tailor-made for chefs, or dining in the gorgeous indoor dining room.
The cottage, or dovecote as it is known in Provence, is located across the paved courtyard and offers two en-suite bedrooms ideal for guests seeking a bit of added privacy without losing any of the richness or high standard of living equal that of the main Bastide. Alternatively, the annex near the pool and Orangerie offers two bedrooms sharing a bathroom, perhaps best suited for younger adults / teenagers, or for personnel.
With ten acres of private land surrounding the property, privacy is absolutely assured. Known to locals as “le petit Versailles”, the gardens and exterior spaces are simply second-to-none. It is an oasis of lavender fields, olive groves, rose gardens, fountains and so much more.
While stunning to simply observe and enjoy, these outdoor spaces are also quite functional and enjoyable for adults and children alike. Two heated pools surrounded by arches and an Orangerie provide the most ideal setting for enjoying a swim or relaxing in the sun or shade. Additional activities available include a lighted tennis court, boules court, ping pong table, croquet lawn, and bicycles.
For guests wishing to explore the surrounding regions as well, you will find the property easily accessible to the famous village of Gordes in just 20 minutes, as well as other renowned hilltop Luberon villages and the beautiful Mont Ventoux all within a 30-minute drive.
Life is simply easier here in Eden, where there is an indescribable ambiance of comfort within the soul of the property, warmly welcoming guests to the very best of holidays.
