From the moment you arrive in the quaint medieval stone village of St. Restitut and wind down the long country lane towards the house you immediately feel the tranquility and authenticity of Provence. At Mas des Chênes, you will find yourself in the heart of wine country, surrounded by olive groves and fields of lavender, medieval castles and cobblestone streets. Nature lovers will delight in the Provencal countryside and those wanting to indulge in culture will find the area buzzing with renowned music, theatre and art festivals during the summer months.
Mas des Chênes was originally a 17th century simple Bergerie, or sheperd's abode. Upon entering the grand tiled foyer it is immediately evident that great care has been taken in the renovation of this ancient bergerie. Warm colors and tasteful furnishings reveal a decor that exudes casual elegance in Provence. The house has an open design, with sweeping arches linking the foyer to the sitting room then into the dining room which opens up to the terrace.
Seated on the terrace draped with climbing roses, you can take in the views of the vast gardens and pool area. The extensive grounds have several shaded areas under large mature trees offering different sitting areas ideal for mid-day tea or an evening aperitif.
Mas des Chenes has a resident cat that is cared for by the housekeeper.
